Delhi-based EdTech startup, Gurucool, ties up with Telangana Government for TMR Institutions to integrate Gurucool Padhaai in 204 Residential Schools and 2 Junior Colleges with more than 1,30,000 students across the state. This development has come only a month after the early access launch of ‘Gurucool Padhaai – Learner App’.
Dubbed as India’s largest free learning platform, to make empathetic, quality and hyperlocal learning available to every student in India, Gurucool Padhaai is earning rare praises in an often criticized, highly competitive and unsustainably commercialized India’s EdTech Industry, for its efforts to digitize campuses and democratize education.
Speaking on the collaboration, Sonam Kumar, Outreach Manager at Gurucool, said, “Telangana is the state with around 50% youth population; if India aims to develop as a smart nation, the youth of Telangana must play a major role in this development. Gurucool Padhaai has been designed to help students find purposeful community, learn smart, do fun activities and thrive in the real world. We are very thankful to the Telangana Government and especially TREIS for being very welcoming.”
By enabling students to discover courses, set goals, play bits, join live, avail scholarships and more, Gurucool Padhaai is personalized for K-12 (Class 6, Class 7, Class 8, Class 9, Class 10, Class 11 and Class 12), Competitive exams (IIT JEE, NEET, IELTS, TOEFL, GRE, GMAT, SAT, UPSC, Bank Exams, SSC Exams, Railway Exams, CLAT) and Skill India (Language, Coding, Entrepreneurship, Digital Marketing, Graphic Designing, Data Science, Management, Personal Development etc).
“More than 287 million people, which is 37% of the global total, are illiterate in India. If TikTok is free, why shouldn’t Padhaai be? Education makes us relevant. It makes us employable. It makes us great human beings. It is a necessity and not a luxury. Period,” said Adil Meraj, Founder & CEO of Gurucool.
Gurucool is also in talks with several other state governments including Bihar, Karnataka and Delhi. Recently, the team met with Dr. Chandra Shekhar (Education Minister of Bihar), Shri Awadh Bihari Choudhary (Bihar Legislative Speaker) and Shri Murari Prasad Gautam (Minister of Panchayati Raj) to discuss how Gurucool Padhaai can help Bihar in its endeavor to make quality education accessible to all.
